The Kate Schulte Foundation honors the late civil rights attorney and activist, Kathaleen B. Schulte. She was committed to furthering justice, equality, and community. She spent many long hours working for the goals of equal justice, equal rights, and equal opportunity.

Kate Schulte loved music. She loved to dance and she loved to sing. Her voice always rang out singing freedom songs and labor songs and all songs of liberation. Nelson Mandela said, “It is music and dancing that makes me at peace with the world and at peace with myself.” Kate believed this and lived it.

The Kate Schulte Foundation is dedicated to furthering the cause of equal justice, equal rights, and equal opportunity for all through the arts. It fosters and presents art that promotes this cause. It provides educational opportunities that encourage an understanding of the relationship between the arts and equality. It presents art experiences that build community.
